Here is a brief explanation of the resources that is located in the grade level links(above):
Sample Items: These are test items that visually look like actual MAP test items and identified by GLE. Scoring guides are also available. To go directly to all of the Sample Items for Communication Arts and Mathematics click here. The Sample Items will be found midway on the page.
Released Items: These are actual MAP test questions which were released by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) after the 2006 MAP tests (2009 for Science). With the actual test items will also be scoring guides and anchor papers. Anchor papers are actual student responses to MAP open-ended items, providing examples of performances at different points on the score scale. These papers provide a concrete representation of each score point described in the scoring guide and include annotations that highlight specific characteristics of the responses. To go directly to all of the Released Items click on the following link; Released Items.
Writing Prompt Guides: For Grades 3 and 7 only, the Communication Arts MAP test includes an extra session for a writing prompt. Currently the writing prompts are not administered by DESE due to budgetary constraints. The Writing Prompts will be reinstated during the 2012-13 school year.
As parents, we try our best to ensure success for our children. One measure of our children's success in school is the Missouri Assessment Program, or MAP, created in response to Missouri’s Outstanding Schools Act of 1993. The MAP Grade-Level assessments includes assessments in the subject areas of communication arts (grades 3-8), mathematics (grades 3-8), and science (grades 5 and 8) and measure whether students in Missouri are meeting Grade Level Expectations (GLE's) developed using the Show-Me Standards. Thank you for assisting us in ensuring the likelihood of student success on the MAP.
