Character Crew meeting tomorrow - Tuesday 12/12 at 7:30am in room 151.

Academic Team-If you are interested in signing up for the 7th/8th grade Academic team, you need to sign up in the office by Thursday, December 14th.  You also must meet the following requirements:

1) Students must earn a 3.0 or higher GPA for the second quarter and no grade can be below a C-.

2) Students can't have any days of ISS or OSS because of discipline issues during the Academic Team Season.

3) Students must sign up by the deadline date that is set.

 

All wrestlers need to turn in their equipment to Mr. Holm or Mr. Adkins ASAP. Please have singlets washed and put into a plastic bag with your name on it.

         

If you are in need of a winter coat, backpack, binder, jeans, or shoes -- plan to come to ‘Supply A Student Night’ on Monday 12/18 in the MS 4:30-6:00pm.  Thanks to a generous donation by the Masonic Lodge we can offer a few of these items for free to students in need.  Tell your parents.  See Mrs. Edwards with questions.

 

Do you wear your seat belt? Do you want a chance to win $10.00? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then go to the teachers lunch table on Thursday and sign a pledge card.Natalie Schnetzler and Anna Harrold are working on a STARR event about traffic safety. They will be there every Thursday the month of December. At the end of the day they will draw out a name to win $10.00!


8TH GRADE STUDENTS: Auditions for the spring play Who Walks in the Dark  will be December 12th at 3:30 in the SPAC.  Callbacks will be the 13th at 3:30 also in the SPAC.  If you would like to audition forms, sign up, and materials are outside Mr. Sanchez's door. If you have any questions ask Mr. Sanchez.

FCCLA will be collecting toy donations for Meet the Need this Christmas. All donations are to be taken to your 4th hour classroom. The class with the highest % collected will get ice cream at lunch on December 13th.The 5th grade class need to take their donations to the 1st hour classroom. All donations should be placed outside the classroom, by the teachers door, so they can be collected without interruptions.

Can you sing? Play an instrument? Dance? Juggle? Act? Are you hiding an awesome talent?  Then, you need to be a part of Lawson’s Got Talent!  Music Boosters will be hosting a Talent Show for students in grades 5-12 on Friday, February 23rd with a dessert bar during intermission.  Sign-up your individual or group act outside Mrs. Covey’s, Mr. Sanchez’s, or Mr. Thomas’ doors by Friday, January 19th!  Don’t miss your chance to show off your talent and win a prize!  If you have questions, please see Mrs. Covey, Mr. Sanchez, or Mr. Thomas.

Hello and welcome to Lawson Middle School, home of the Fighting Cardinals. Our building is home to 424 fifth through eighth graders. Our mission is to provide the educational and social stepping stone for all students to proceed to high school with a broad academic basis, a positive attitude, self esteem and above all an eagerness to learn. 

Our goals and expectations of the students:

8th Grade Supply List

All students need paper, pencils and a way to organize themselves (binder, expand-a-file, etc.)  There is no set school supply list for 8th grade.  Kleenexes are welcome by all teachers.  Some teachers will request a few extra items for their classes. Please read all syllabi.  Thanks.
