If approved by voters, the District would increase its Operating levy from $2.95 to $3.90.
Currently, the District currently has the lowest operating levy of any school district in the region west of Hwy 65 and north of I-70 at $2.9547 per 100 of Assessed Valuation (AV).
Due to Assessed Valuation (AV) growth faster than the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the District’s operating levy has reduced by almost 45 cents since 2013-14. In 2013-14, the operating levy was $3.4024 and in 2020-21 it was $2.9547.
In addition to the Operating Levy, the District currently has a 95-cent Debt Service levy. The Operating Levy plus the Debt Service Levy equal the Total Levy. The Total Levy of $3.9047 from the image above would be increased by 0.9500 to an estimated Total Levy of $4.8547 should the Operating Levy increase pass on August 3, 2021.
The District has not asked voters for an Operating levy increase for over 30 years. The Debt Service levy has remained the same since originally promised to voters twenty-seven years ago.
