Lawson High School Announces New Graduation Date
Lawson High School Announces New Graduation Date of July 12th; Information on Other Events Below

Dear Students, Parents/Guardians,

During the Board meeting last night, there was discussion involving our postponed events and our desire to reschedule.  We wanted to share the following information to answer questions and help with your planning.

*Please understand the dates for graduation and prom are tentative as we will continue to follow protocols and guidelines set forth by our county, state and national authorities.

Graduation - It is still our hope to hold a live ceremony to celebrate our seniors.  With that in mind, we are setting a tentative date for graduation on Sunday, July 12 at 2:00.  Our backup date will be Sunday, August 2.

*Due to these uncertain times, we understand there may be conflicts for seniors and/or their family members with either date for our graduation ceremony.  Unfortunately we do not have the luxury of the normal year-in-advance scheduling.  We believe it is vital to conduct a graduation ceremony and are providing as much notice as possible.

Prom - We hope to hold Prom at Heritage Hall in Liberty from 8:00-11:00 with After Prom to follow in the high school.  We are currently in discussions with the venue, DJ and other services to determine a date and will let you know once it has been set.

Spring Play - The play has been canceled for this year.

Academic Letter Ceremony - We will be unable to hold the ceremony as usual but look for an article in the Lawson Review in the coming weeks.  Those students being honored will receive their certificate, emblem and/or bar when we have the opportunity to present them in person.

National Honor Society Induction Ceremony - This event will be held next fall but be on the lookout for an article in the Lawson Review soon to honor those students who have qualified for this prestigious group.

We hope you and your families continue to be safe and healthy through these unprecedented times.  Please continue to communicate with our staff regarding any issues your students may be having through this process.
