The Cardinals traveled to Lathrop tonight and come away with a big win, 49-0. Go Cardinals!
Last night the volleyball team competed in a district semifinal matchup with Oak Grove. The girls battled all night long but ultimately fell short, 1-3. The team finished the season with a 22-8-1 record and as undefeated Conference Champions. Congratulations on a great season!
Football Week 9 Teacher/Staff Member Of The Week
The Lawson Football program is happy to announce this week's teacher/staff member of the week. This week, the seniors would like to recognize Mr. Joe Koeberl. Mr. Koeberl is the 8th Grade History teacher at Lawson Middle School. Mr. Koeberl does a great job keeping his students engaged in History class. The seniors appreciate his hard work and dedication in the classroom. Mr. Koeberl also does an amazing job of announcing a variety of sporting events for the Lawson School District. Lawson Cardinal Stadium Complex Closed - BEGINNING 10/22
Our athletic stadium complex, including the football field, track, and softball field, will be closed to all foot traffic beginning on the morning of Tuesday, October 22. This is due to the resealing and painting of the track and runways. The stadium will remain closed through the process, with an anticipated reopening date of November 12.
The project is being completed as part of the April 2024 Bond - Scope of Work.

This week, the seniors would like to recognize Mrs. Deana Gobble! Mrs. Gobble is a Kindergarten teacher at Southwest Elementary. She has been teaching kindergarten at Southwest for 27 years. This is her 36th year of teaching in the Lawson School District. Throughout her tenure, Mrs. Gobble has made a tremendous impact on countless students! Last night the volleyball program participated in the annual Pink Out event against Lathrop High School. Thank you to all that attended and helped show support for our honoree, Kayle Rice.
C-Team started the evening, battling through a tough match but ultimately fell 1-2. JV then fought hard for a 2-0 win. Varsity ended the night on a high note with a 3-1 victory.

Volleyball travelled to East Buchanan tonight and left with a huge conference win, with a 3-0 sweep! JV also came away with a 2-1 victory. Go Cards!
The Cardinals put together four solid quarters for a 34-15 conference win over West Platte.
Football Week 6 Teacher/Staff Member of the Week
The week 6 Teacher/Staff member of the week is Mr. Wes Florea! Coach Florea is the Physical Education teacher at Southwest Elementary. The seniors have great memories of P.E. while at Southwest! Coach Florea made a huge impact on them while they were in Elementary school, and he continues to impact many of the seniors as a coach. Thank you, Coach Florea, for all you do for students!

Varsity Softball hosted the Plattsburg Tigers tonight for what became a thrilling KCI contest. These teams went back and forth until the Cardinals won 8-7 in the bottom of the 9th inning.
JV continued the winning ways by winning 7-1.

Mrs. Moore is a Kindergarten teacher at Southwest Elementary. Many of the seniors had her as a teacher when they were in 3rd grade at Southwest Elementary. The seniors highlighted how she brings positivity and kindness to the school, showed them excellent music videos to help them learn concepts in class, and how awesome of a job she does singing the National Anthem at our baseball games.
