On March 7-9, the HS Robotics Team traveled to Sedalia to compete in the Central Missouri Regional. This was a last-minute add-on event for us, and we showed up on Thursday with a robot that still needed to be wired to function at the most basic level. The team worked diligently to prepare the robot for qualification matches on Friday, got the robot on the field for the first match, and finally got the robot at least driving by the last few matches of the day. On Saturday, we improved the robot between each match and got our shooting mechanism functioning to shoot in a game piece in the day's final match. We ended the competition ranked 15th out of 36 teams. We were not picked for the playoffs, but we were the first alternate(We would have subbed in if another robot broke down and could not compete). The team persevered in getting a functioning robot by the end of the meet. This experience gives the team a stepping stone to perform at an even higher level at the next competitions.
