FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lawson School District Moves District Office
After over 100 years at the corner of 4th Street and Allison Street, the Lawson School District has officially relocated all district operations. The district is proud to announce the opening of its newly renovated district office, now situated on the northeast corner of Southwest Elementary School.
The renovated space, which previously served as the main entrance and administrative office of Southwest Elementary, has been transformed into the central hub for district operations. This move was made possible by the construction of a new main entrance and administrative office at Southwest Elementary, funded by the passage of the district’s April 2024 No Tax Increase Bond.
“Moving our District Office is more than just a change of address; it’s a reflection of our community’s commitment to progress,” said Dr. Stephenson, Superintendent of Lawson School District. “The support of our patrons in passing the No Tax Increase Bond allowed us to honor our history while creating updated, secure, and efficient spaces that will serve students, staff, and families for decades to come.”
The relocation not only provides modern facilities for district operations but also improves safety and accessibility for students and families at Southwest Elementary. By repurposing existing space and constructing new administrative areas, the district maximized resources while respecting community priorities.
Lawson School District deeply thanks the voters whose overwhelming support—74% approval in the April 2024 election—made this transition possible. Their investment continues to positively impact students, staff, and the entire Lawson community.
The district is preparing to sell the remaining property at the corner of 4th Street and Allison Street through a sealed bid process. For more information about Lawson School District and updates on our 2024 bond project, visit
