Lawson Middle School Robotics Team Excels at FTC KC East Holden Qualification Meet
Lawson, MO — December 6, 2025
The Lawson Middle School Robotics FTC (First Tech Challenge) Team delivered an outstanding performance at the FTC KC East Holden Qualification Meet, held Saturday at Holden High School in Holden, Missouri. Team members Atticus Amick, Killian Barnt, Landry Chapman, Bruce Cribbs, Everett Jaremko, and Landon Pitts proudly represented Lawson in the competition.
Twelve robotics teams from across the Kansas City region competed in the event. Lawson entered the day ranked 5th in the league and 10th in the state, but after completing an undefeated run with a 6–0 record in qualifying matches, the team surged to 2nd in the league and 5th in the state.
The team also achieved a significant technical milestone. Working in alliance, Lawson was part of the first team in Missouri to complete a Double Base Park, a challenging maneuver requiring two robots to successfully park within a shared 18-inch square—a rare and impressive accomplishment within the FTC community.
The Lawson FTC team now turns its focus to the KC East League Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, February 7th, in Belton, MO, where they will compete for advancement into higher-level state events.
