Lawson School Leaders Attend Ray County Child Abuse Awareness Proclamation Ceremony

On Wednesday, April 29, Superintendent Dr. Stephenson and Student Services Director Mr. Tyson Miller represented the Lawson R-XIV School District at the Ray County Child Abuse Awareness Month Proclamation Ceremony, hosted by the Ray County Commission.

Their attendance demonstrated the district’s continued commitment to supporting ongoing efforts across Ray County to raise awareness and prevent child abuse. It also reflects Lawson’s dedication to strengthening collaborative relationships with county officials, agencies, and community partners. These partnerships play a vital role in ensuring a coordinated approach to meeting the needs of students and families.

“A strong working relationship among local and county organizations is critical in the work we do to serve and support children,” said Dr. Stephenson. “Opportunities like this allow us to stand united with our community in promoting the safety and well-being of all students.”

The proclamation ceremony highlighted the importance of adult awareness and responsibility in recognizing and reporting signs of child abuse. Community leaders emphasized the message: if you see something concerning, say something. Early intervention and vigilance are key to protecting children and providing them with safe, supportive environments.

Child abuse continues to impact individuals, families, and communities across the nation. Events like this serve as an important reminder that prevention and protection require a collective effort.

The Lawson R-XIV School District remains committed to fostering safe learning environments and working alongside community partners to support the whole child.
