Lawson Board of Education Recognizes Andee Riley with Cardinal Pride Award
The Lawson Board of Education proudly recognized Ms. Andee Riley at the May meeting for her outstanding dedication to supporting students across the district.
Ms. Riley was honored as a Cardinal Pride Award recipient for her leadership in organizing and expanding opportunities for Lawson students to participate in regional Special Olympics activities. This spring, she led efforts to coordinate student participation in a regional Special Olympics Track and Field event held in Lathrop.
Through her dedication and hard work, Lawson students were provided the opportunity to train, prepare, and compete as athletes while building confidence, teamwork, and lasting memories. The district was represented at the event by six student-athletes, seven athlete buddies, and Cooper the Cardinal. Collectively, Lawson participants earned 17 medals.
Middle School Principal Mr. Zahl praised Ms. Riley’s commitment to students, stating, “She has a heart of gold and a desire to help all students achieve and find their own personal success.”
Ms. Riley also shared plans to continue growing Special Olympics opportunities for Lawson students as the district moves into the 2026–27 school year.
The Lawson Board of Education and administration extend their sincere appreciation to Ms. Riley for the compassion, leadership, and selfless service she continues to demonstrate as a member of the Lawson School District and the Lawson community.
