Mrs. Covey's HS Piano Class is off to a great start with students already learning several songs to play independently. They'll be progressing at their own pace as the semester continues as they work towards a recital in May.




This weekend at the Kearney Girls wrestling tournament, Jordyn Smith reached an incredible milestone of 100 wins in her career!

Our December "Board Spotlight" was on 3 great school partners the Lawson VFW Post 6278, the Lawson VFW Auxiliary, and the Lawson Assembly of God Church. These 3 groups helped support the students and families of the community by donating over $1400 to pay off outstanding lunch balances and ensure students are on solid ground as they return for the 2nd semester of school. We thank each of them for their unwavering support of the Lawson school community. #WeAreLawson

Congratulations to junior Addison Shay on earning honorable mention for her November Photo of the Month competition entry to MIJA (Missouri Interscholastic Journalism Association), the state student journalism organization. Yearbook staff members submit entries each month and then we can enter one in the state competition. Included photos are of student Addison Shay and the photo she took of junior Cassadi Osborn as she prepares for "Alice in Wonderland"


The boys basketball program split a pair of games with Orrick at home on Monday night. The Varsity suffered a tough one-possession loss 52-49 to the Bearcats. Josh Ramsey led the Cardinals with 17 points, while Isaac Willoughby added 10 points and Carter Hocraffer chipped in 9 points.
Congratulations to our JV for their 55-25 victory over Orrick. Brogan Crawford and Andrew Phipps led a balanced scoring attack with 11 points each and Chase Jones tallied 9 points.
The Varsity will return to action on Tuesday December 27, 2022 as they face St. Michael the Archangel in the LeBlond Tournament at 5:30 PM in St. Joseph. Our JV will next play on Tuesday January 3rd at home against Chillicothe, while our C-Team gets back on the court on Monday January 9th at home against Savannah.
The varsity girls basketball team hosted the Lady Bearcats of Orrick on Monday. The Lady Cardinals defeated Orrick 52-1.
Senior Kinley Wilkins led the scoring with 11 points. Junior Evie Caresia added 10 points. Freshman Leah Baldwin was the leading rebounder with 6.
The Lady Cardinals improve to 8-2 on the season and travel to the NCMC Holiday Hoops on Wednesday to play Ewing Marion Kauffman Charter.
Students in Mrs. Johnson's English II and Adv. Eng. II classes compete in an escape room as their final challenge in the Lord of the Flies Team Challenge. Each class split into teams before beginning the book and competed in challenges as teams while reading in order to experienc
