
The Lawson BOE is pleased to announce that Mrs. Shelby Harman will be joining Southwest Elementary for the 2024-25 school year.
Mrs. Harman grew up in Liberty. She then attended Park University where she completed her degree in Elementary Education and played softball. She then began her teaching career in Orrick. While there she taught sixth grade, later second grade, and coached softball.
"Being able to play a part in shaping and growing a young learners mind is a wonderful feeling. I strive to help young minds grow and blossom through fun and engaging experiences in the classroom, and setting them up for success throughout their educational career and everyday life!"

The Lawson BOE is pleased to announce that Ms. Madison Stark will be joining Southwest Elementary for the 2024-25 school year.
Ms. Stark is a Lawson alum and has been teaching in Orrick. She attended Northwest Missouri University where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She says that being a twacher has been her dream since she was little. She says her main goal is for her students to develop skills to not only become lifelong learners but skills that allow them to develop socially and emotionally as well. "I love making learning a hands on, and fun, experience!"


Lawson BOE announces 2024-2025 (Ag Education Teacher/FFA Advisor) Ms. Anna Triplett.
The Lawson BOE is pleased to announce that Ms. Anna Triplett will be our agriculture education teacher and FFA advisor for the upcoming school year. Ms. Triplett is currently student teaching in the Rolla School District and will graduate from MU in the spring. Anna has a solid background and understanding of both agriculture education and FFA. She is a former FFA President of her home chapter, Memphis FFA. While a member of the Memphis FFA, she was actively involved in chapter events and Career Development Events (CDEs). She also served as the Area 3 FFA President and Area 3 State FFA Vice President in 2021-2022. Ms. Triplett is the sixth generation born and raised on the family farm. Anna’s family consists of row crop farmers in Scottland County, MO, and they have been recognized as Missouri Century Farmers. Anna states she is excited to lead the charge for building a successful agriculture education program and FFA Chapter in the Lawson School District and believes that Lawson is the place she is supposed to be.

Tuesday Night - February 27
We are excited to host both our annual 7th-12th grade Choral Concert and the Class 3, Sectional 8 boys basketball game vs. East Buchanan on Tuesday, Feb. 27th.
Our concert start time has moved to 6 pm. Basketball will tip off at 7:30 pm. To reduce parking congestion, we are asking those attending the concert to park in the lots west of the high school and to use the west spaces in the front lot. Those attending sectional basketball should park in the east half of campus and utilize the softball parking if necessary.
Per MSHSAA Policy, all ticketing after the district finals is digital. Please use these instructions to purchase your $8 ticket.

Lawson BOE announces 2024-2025 HS Assistant Principal.
The Lawson BOE is pleased to announce that Mr. John Haley will join Lawson High School as the assistant principal. Mr. Haley has experience as a student college advisor and biology and physics teacher in the North Kansas City School District. John is currently the 7-12 High School Principal in the Orrick School District. John and his wife, Faith, reside in the Lawson School District with their three boys: Canaan (6), Luke (4), and Micah (2). Canaan is in 1st grade at Southwest Elementary, and Luke attends Little Hands Preschool at the Lawson Baptist Church. Mr. Haley states he is passionate about serving teachers, students, and families, working together to support every student and ensure they are given the best opportunity to reach their full potential.


We want to take a moment and say "Happy Bus Driver Appreciation Day" to our dedicated school bus drivers, monitors, and supervisors for what you do each day to ensure our students are transported safely to and from home and many, many sporting events and other school activities. Your dedication to our students is appreciated, and we thank you for the early morning, the later nights, and everything in between. #WeArelawson



Our February Board Spotlight was shinned on senior Cade Shafer for his recent selection to the Missouri All-State Choir and 5th Grader Penelope Petet for her selection to the All-State Children's Choir. #WeAreLawson



The Lawson School District has set sail on an exciting journey today. With the expertise and assistance of the leading curriculum design team (StepUp), we are digging into the DNA of our academic success and setting our sights on great things to come. Our students deserve it and our community expects it. #WeAreLawson







Our final couple of 2024 Valentine's Day Cardinal Love Birds is Kristie and Tyson Miller. The Millers have been married for 20 years and together for 21 years.
Tyson the the Director of Student Services for the Lawson School District, and Kristie is a paraprofessional in the Lawson Middle School.
The two met in Ft. Irwin, CA.
As a couple, the Millers enjoy spending time together traveling and RVing
A fun fact about the couple is that they are taking a cruise to Iceland and Greenland this coming summer for our 20th anniversary.



Our 3rd Cardinals Couple is Heather and Joe Koeberl. The Koeberls have been married for 25 years and together for 30 years.
Joe is an 8th-grade history teacher, and Heather is a 5th-grade reading teacher at the Lawson Middle School.
The two met while attending Northwest Missouri State University (NWMSU)
As a couple, the Koeberls enjoy treasure hunting, traveling/sightseeing, and chauffeuring their daughter.
A fun fact about the couple is Joe proposed to Heather at NWMSU Homecoming halftime on the 50-yard line.
