Tonight, we celebrated three lifelong Lawson Cardinals as we joined their families to recognize their dedicated years of service to the Lawson School District and to wish them all the best in retirement. • Lynn Smithmier – High School FACS Teacher/Guidance Counselor (1997–2026) • Anita Duncan – School Bus Driver (1978–2026) • David Allgaier – Board of Education (2018–2026) All three are proud Lawson graduates and now outstanding retirees. Their impact on generations of Lawson students, families, staff, and the entire community will be lasting. Thank you for your commitment, care, and service to Lawson Schools. Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal. #WeAreLawson

Lawson School Leaders Attend Ray County Child Abuse Awareness Proclamation Ceremony

Dr. Michael Stephenson, Superintendent of Schools, and Mr. Tyson Miller, Director of Student Services, attended the Ray County Child Abuse Awareness Month Proclamation Ceremony hosted by the Ray County Commission.

Their attendance supported ongoing efforts throughout Ray County and continued to strengthen the working relationship between Lawson Schools and our community partners, including county officials and agencies. Strong collaboration among local and county organizations is critical in the work we do to serve the needs of students and families.

The event was intended to raise awareness about the important role adults play in protecting children. It served as a reminder to recognize the signs of abuse and to take action, speaking up when something doesn’t seem right.

Child abuse impacts individuals, families, and entire communities. By working together and remaining vigilant, we can help ensure that every child is safe, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

please vote
This coming Tuesday, April 7, we are asking our community to cast their vote to help provide clear direction for the future of real-world learning opportunities for our students. As we continue developing meaningful, hands-on experiences, your voice will help guide how we meet the evolving needs of our students and prepare them for success beyond the classroom.

One of the key components of this proposal is the Agriculture Learning Lab. This facility would provide students with hands-on, real-world learning experiences that extend beyond what can be replicated in a traditional classroom. Students would have the opportunity to apply academic concepts in authentic settings while developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills essential for life after graduation.

In partnership with our newly established agricultural education program and FFA chapter, the Learning Lab would expand opportunities for students to explore careers in agriculture, science, skilled trades, and related fields.

This measure represents a decision for our community regarding the future direction of these proposed opportunities. We encourage all community members to stay informed and participate in the election.

Your participation in this vote is important as we work together to support our students and schools.

Please remember to vote on April 7.

Please Vote April 7th

Investing in Learning. Harvesting Opportunity.

On April 7, voters will consider a $3 million bond for Lawson R-XIV Schools. This bond will NOT increase your current tax rate, but it will expand opportunities for our students.

Why it matters:
Since 2020, 40% of our graduating seniors each year have chosen to enter the workforce directly. This bond will expand hands-on learning to meet the needs of these students while preparing all learners for:

*Hands-On Learning

*Career Readiness

*Workforce Development

*Leadership Growth

With this investment, students gain real-world skills, strengthen career and technical pathways, and build leadership skills, preparing them for college, careers, or military service.

PLEASE VOTE - April 7th

🚀 The Final Push to 95%!
We are so close to hitting our district-wide goal. Check out where we stand as of today:

💡 Why that 0.7% matters:
Reaching 95% isn't just a number on a spreadsheet; it represents hundreds of extra hours of collaboration, hands-on learning, and shared memories. When you are here, the energy in our hallways changes for the better.

🌟 How we get there:
The "One More Day" Mindset: If you're feeling that mid-term fatigue, just focus on winning the day.

Support Your Circle: Encourage your friends and classmates. We reach this milestone as a team, or not at all!

Celebrate the Streak: Let’s see which building can be the first to cross the 95% line this month!

Let’s make it happen. See you tomorrow!
